Fried Green Tomatoes!
I just love eating them, especially first thing out of the skillet. They are just soooo good, and very simple to make. Add a little of Frank’s red hot to the mix, and these are banging!
With just a handful of ingredients – corn meal, eggs, salt, garlic powder and pepper, canola oil, and of course your fresh green tomatoes, you too can enjoy this super easy and quick side dish / snack / meal. What’s better than a slice of sweet potato pie?
Sweet potato pie……….. in a cup!! LOL
Sweet potato pie is my all time favorite dessert, right before tiramisu. But, I’ve gained some weight thanks to my sweet tooth and now I’m trying to watch how much that I eat. Smaller portions is what I’m working on. So I said to myself, hey, I wonder has anyone ever tried to make sweet potato pie cups?
I went online and found tons of recipes for cupcakes with sweet potato in them… and pumpkin pie cupcakes…. but not actual sweet potato PIE cups with an actual crust! So this here is my own personal rendition… If you’ve seen something similar to this around elsewhere, let me know, and keep reading for the details 🙂
One of my favorite dishes in the whole wide world are GREENS. Yasssssss hunny, believe me when I tell you all that I just love them! This is honestly something that I have grown up eating since a little baby. Greens are expected on the menu in my house every single time Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and Easter roll around. I have fond memories of my grandmother and grandfather cleaning greens together, cutting them apart, and simmering a huge stock pot full of them.. enough for all the family to eat their full. I could never get enough of it as a child although my daughter isn’t quite yet that fond of vegetables. I’m still hoping that she grows out of this stage.
The issue I’ve always had with fixing greens though, is who has time to prepare them? I mean, You’ve got to wash them throughly, and take out the stems, cut em all in small pieces and then keep an eye on the pot once it’s cooking… Ugh!
